Frequency of Cervix Dysplasia in Women with Prolapsed Uterus: Cross-Sectional Descriptive Study at Panzi General Referral Hospital

Introduction: According to the WHO (January 7, 2022), cervical cancer is second leading cause of death worldwide among women childbearing age. However, highly preventable and treatable due its well-known disease history which goes through several detectable pre-cancerous phases with available treatments. There are very few data on prevalence dysplastic lesions cervix in Democratic Republic Congo. Panzi General Referral Hospital a care center for genital prolapse, our study aimed determine this particular population. Methodology: This cross-sectional all aged ≥ 18 years who consulted at HGR from September 01 December 31, 2022, diagnosed uterine prolapse consented study. Results: The mean (±SD) age patients was 47.44 (±14.42) majority (67.7%) them were 40 over. For respondents, Pap smear normal 62.6% inflammatory 2% cases, while cytological abnormalities, found 35.4% including 12.1% high-grade (HSIL), i.e. 12 out total 99 examined.
